Liked having good hot and superb breakfast.

We were very satisfied with the excellent staff. The location in a nice quiet area was beautiful and fantastic. Walking distance to restaurants and pubs, it was a bonus.

    Needs improvement
    5.8

The room was nicely furnished with a beautiful selection of coffees etc, all the comforts, for example and the breakfast was enjoyable. The hotel was placed in the secluded location in a quiet area outside of Edinburgh. What's more, it was near South Queensferry nearby, many wonderful castles and attractions, and outskirts of Edinburgh.

A bit hot room, I was a little disappointed.

    really good breakfast
    cramped room
    unclear directions
    noise disturbance

Really good Scottish breakfast served with local ingredients.

Unfortunately, the room felt slightly cramped at times, which detracted from our overall experience. I found the location a bit difficult to access due to unclear direction signs. Finally, the noise from outside was noticeable at night and made it challenging to sleep well.

    stunning views
    engaging tales
    limited dining options

James's storytelling about Outlander and the local history made our stay even more special, while the stunning views of grazing deer brought a unique charm to our mornings.

    private sitting area
    amazing breakfast
    helpful hosts

I stayed one night in a cozy One-Bedroom Suite. Breakfast was amazing, served in our private sitting area. The hosts really know their stuff about local walks to Midhope Castle and Hopetoun. Plus, chatting with the hostess was a nice touch before heading to the airport. I'd definitely come back!

    cute hospitality

    Solo traveler retreat

The place was excellent. We were treated like family with James sharing lots of great stories about the area and he made the best breakfast. The room was cozy and had everything we needed including snacks and drinks. I could relax and enjoy the quiet surroundings, perfect after a long drive.

It wasn't cheap but well worth the experience.

    delicious breakfast
    beautiful grounds
    lack of kid-friendly activities

The breakfast spread was fantastic, with plenty of choices made to order. Being so close to Midhope Castle added to the charm, and we loved strolling through the beautiful estate grounds. James was accommodating.

In my wife's opinion, more kid-friendly activities would enhance our stay.

    beautiful view
    thoughtful snacks
    chilly room
    difficult navigation
    limited stay duration

Staying in the One-Bedroom Suite was a delight, especially with the beautiful view of deer grazing outside. Snacks were plentiful and thoughtfully stocked. The room felt a bit chilly at night, which detracted from overall comfort, and navigating the location with GPS was not straightforward. Still, the breakfast offered a fantastic selection and quality that stood out .

great atmosphere but minor room cooling issues

The one-bedroom suite provided ample space and a cozy environment that felt very cute. I appreciated the fully stocked fridge with various snacks. Breakfast was a highlight, served in a lovely dining area with fantastic quality and variety. The hosts were knowledgeable, offering great recommendations for local walks.

The room could have been slightly warmer at night for maximum comfort.

    Luxury stay with friendly vibes

We enjoyed 3 nights in a cozy suite. Everything was great, with fresh snacks and drinks always on hand. Loved the outdoor dining area for breakfast! Got to chat with James, he's super knowledgeable about the area. Just wish the parking was a bit easier to navigate, but it's a small trade-off for such a lovely retreat.
